Kisora Grant the modern thinker

https://www.facebook.com/kishor.grant

This person appears to be a SP disciple, but the type that pops up on the radar every now and then. He has given us no evidence of his adherence to SP's teachings by this use of the phrase, "I think so" "i feel". This, what follows was a short joust with him in a forum that I was not appreciated in and hence could not write much there.

"I hold my Godbrother, Bhakti Vidya Purna maharaj in high esteem and thoroughly enjoyed attending his talks at the former girl's gurukula facility four times a week on my recent trip to Mayapur" This was his excuse for having said things like, "I think so", "I find it, at best, immature and unrepresentative of his mood".

To be fair to the scriptures, we do admit that this one instance is no proof to pass judgement on him after all he does like to attend BVPS's lectures, so he must not be that bad, right?

X das: Thanks! I don´t care what others talk about Maharaj - it might be big group or small. I don´t care... I would only like to get His association again and again.. Relationships in this world(as are in spiritual world too) is just the most important thing. And although i am not very good to accept all these Vedic principles in my life - at least i´m trying. And it´s all due to mercy of devotees like BVPS. Hare Krishna! Ys.

Y mata: Hare Krishna Prabhu, thank you for your inspiring comment. Although those who give trouble to Maharaja deserve to suffer for millions of years in the worst of hells, this movement of Lord Caitanya is not for killing demons - it's for delivering them. That is the only reason why such people are still breathing. Therefore I am simply praying that some day those miscreants get the opportunity to fall at the lotus feet of Maharaja and attain his forgiveness. Then, chanting the Holy Name offenselessly they will taste the nectar of pure love for Krishna, and all their suffering on the miserable platform of mundane prana-maya will cease.

Kishor Grant Thanks for posting this, mata. Food for thought and food for the soul. Your comment, '...those who give trouble to Maharaja deserve to suffer for millions of years, etc.' would, I think, not be approved by Maharaja himself. I find it, at best, immature and unrepresentative of his mood.

Manikar Das Brahmachari "Food for thought and food for the soul."- Real food for thought and soul is Prabhupada's books.
Since the brahmanas are as Manu Samhita 1.98 says murtir dharmasya shashavat, personification of the scriptures, we should read/understand the scriptures that they represent.
Then we will understand BVPS's mood or Prabhupada's mood or the mood of any true brahmana's.
What is being said by the above commentator which you have taken the liberty to call immature and unrepresentative of the mood of BVPS is supported by the scriptures. Do have a look.

CC Madhya 15.261 Purport

The Hari-bhakti-vilāsa cites the following quotation from Skanda Purāṇa concerning the blaspheming of a Vaiṣṇava:
yo hi bhāgavataṁ lokam
upahāsaṁ nṛpottama
karoti tasya naśyanti
artha-dharma-yaśaḥ-sutāḥ
nindāṁ kurvanti ye mūḍhā
vaiṣṇavānāṁ mahātmanām
patanti pitṛbhiḥ sārdhaṁ
mahā-raurava-saṁjñite
hanti nindati vai dveṣṭi
vaiṣṇavān nābhinandati
krudhyate yāti no harṣaṁ
darśane patanāni ṣaṭ
In this conversation between Mārkaṇḍeya and Bhagīratha, it is said: "My dear King, if one derides an exalted devotee, he loses the results of his pious activities, his opulence, his reputation and his sons. Vaiṣṇavas are all great souls. Whoever blasphemes them falls down to the hell known as Mahāraurava. He is also accompanied by his forefathers. Whoever kills or blasphemes a Vaiṣṇava and whoever is envious of a Vaiṣṇava or angry with him, or whoever does not offer him obeisances or feel joy upon seeing a Vaiṣṇava, certainly falls into a hellish condition."
The Hari-bhakti-vilāsa (10.314) also gives the following quotation from Dvārakā-māhātmya:
kara-patraiś ca phālyante
sutīvrair yama-śāsanaiḥ
nindāṁ kurvanti ye pāpā
vaiṣṇavānāṁ mahātmanām
In a conversation between Prahlāda Mahārāja and Bali Mahārāja, it is said, "Those sinful people who blaspheme Vaiṣṇavas, who are all great souls, are subjected very severely to the punishment offered by Yamarāja."
In the Bhakti-sandarbha (313) there is a statement concerning the blaspheming of Lord Viṣṇu.
ye nindanti hṛṣīkeśaṁ
tad-bhaktaṁ puṇya-rūpiṇam
śata-janmārjitaṁ puṇyaṁ
teṣāṁ naśyati niścitam
te pacyante mahā-ghore
kumbhīpāke bhayānake
bhakṣitāḥ kīṭa-saṅghena
yāvac candra-divākarau
śrī-viṣṇor avamānanād
gurutaraṁ śrī-vaiṣṇavollaṅghanam
tadīya-dūṣaka-janān
na paśyet puruṣādhamān
taiḥ sārdhaṁ vañcaka-janaiḥ
saha-vāsaṁ na kārayet
"One who criticizes Lord Viṣṇu and His devotees loses all the benefits accrued in a hundred pious births. Such a person rots in the Kumbhīpāka hell and is bitten by worms as long as the sun and moon exist. One should therefore not even see the face of a person who blasphemes Lord Viṣṇu and His devotees. Never try to associate with such persons."
In his Bhakti-sandarbha (265), Jīva Gosvāmī further quotes from Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (10.74.40):
nindāṁ bhagavataḥ śṛṇvan
tat-parasya janasya vā
tato nāpaiti yaḥ so 'pi
yāty adhaḥ sukṛtāc cyutaḥ
"If one does not immediately leave upon hearing the Lord or the Lord's devotee blasphemed, he falls down from devotional service." Similarly, Lord Śiva's wife Satī states in Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam (4.4.17):
karṇau pidhāya nirayād yad akalpa īśe
dharmāvitary asṛṇibhir nṛbhir asyamāne
chindyāt prasahya ruśatīm asatīṁ prabhuś cej
jihvām asūn api tato visṛjet sa dharmaḥ
"If one hears an irresponsible person blaspheme the master and controller of religion, he should block his ears and go away if unable to punish him. But if one is able to kill, then one should by force cut out the blasphemer's tongue and kill the offender, and after that he should give up his own life."

Kishor Grant Manikar Das Brahmachari, Please accept my humble obeisances. All glories to Srila Prabhupada. With respect, the initial comment you have become so hot-under-the collar about was made to mother Y , and not to you. You weren't invitedto come leaping to her defence breathing fire and brimstone and quoting from books. I don't need to be lectured to by some young brahmachary i've never even met. I hold my Godbrother, Bhakti Vidya Purna maharaj in high esteem and thoroughly enjoyed attending his talks at the former girl's gurukula facility four times a week on my recent trip to Mayapur. While i'm sure you mean well in your efforts to help me see things in the 'proper light', I humbly suggest you learn the art of minding your own business when addressing senior devotees you don't even know.

Manikar Das Brahmachari "you have become so hot-under-the collar", "breathing fire and brimstone and quoting from books" oh pls dont take it the wrong way.
" While i'm sure you mean well in your efforts" and we always do, we always do.
anyways, we thank you for your kind suggestions. haribol
